This place was so good! Nice, small neighborhood spot for some really great food. We went with the two pastas and a main to share between two people. They also give you a small bit of bread to start with! - carlesimo, nice savory pasta with tomato sauce and pancetta. This was a must! So flavorful - vongole, this was good with lots of clams so nice if you like seafood. Thought this pasta could have used a little more sauce / salt - Mary's chicken breast; great way to complete the mains. The chicken was so tender and went well with the sides We topped it all off with some tiramisu and their almond gelato cake. Both were fantastic!
This place was packed on. Friday night. Service was friendly, but a little time to get his attention to get our check. Very atmospheric and San Francisco feel, kind of a lot of people having a fun time. The best dish was the burrata and prosciutto appetizer with asparagus. The ingredients were all good, especially the asparagus . We also got the shrimp scampi, which was not as good ... the shrimp were a little tough and small. The pastas were both good, including my gluten free penne. Blackberry Cabernet sorbet was really large and delicious ... definitely enough for two people ... Overall, I wouldn't say it was a gourmet Italian meal, but more of a good neighborhood restaurant with a serious San Francisco atmosphere ...
Amazing food for the right price , portions were just perfect. Staff were very attentive and friendly, great service , and the ambiance was just inviting to stay even longer ....
Every time I go to the city I have to stop at the Contadina. Kevin and Gina have done a great job. Food was Amazing and the Ceasar was spectacular.
What's not to love about this quaint little Italian spot? Start with the chop salad and get the carlesolimo - super unique dish. And don't forget to make reservations
This is an Italian restaurant that I have been searching for a while, and finally that's it! It's cozy, casual but not lack of elegance. It's classic, old-school but with a lively ambiance. The food tastes delicious and they have a good wine list. Most importantly, the staff were just very friendly and attentive. Not to forget, the price is reasonable, and it's located around the North Beach area. This is it! We came Sunday around 8, and got seated right away. What we ordered were an arugula salad, tomato and burrata as appetizer(amazing), and pasta, carlesimo , (yummy sauces). Paired with wine, then you got your Sunday fixed!
The best food my cousin restaurant Everything's fresh, it's wonderful. It's a good place to eat. You'll see a lot of history with our family pictures. You'll see Joe Montana with my dad Vincent. I mean there's a lot to the history of the restaurant for 30 almost 40 years now, in business and still the best business to have the food and the reservations you gotta call like a day in advance. For wicked advance, because they always get filled up the service and The ambiance. And everything is fresh, daily bread. S, fresh daily, everything is the way. It's supposed to be, and it's a good recommendation record restaurant. It's number 7 in USA Today. At the top tin's restaurants in the world and in the United States, so there you have it. Enjoy vincent
finally got to try and the service was great! everyone was friendly and attentive and we were able to sit down without a reservation on a sunday evening. the mama fratelli had a creamy sauce that we all loved and it was nice to have a protein in it as well. gave us a lot of cheese and pepper as well
Where to begin with Trattoria Contadina!! First, reservations are highly recommended because it was very busy right when they opened. The restaurant was super cozy and warm - I loved looking at all the memorabilia and the history of the restaurant. Our server was so friendly and recommended some of his favorites since there were so many options to choose from! Meatballs 4.6/5 Cesare Salad 5/5 - I would drink the dressing because it's just that good!! Il Diavolo 5/5 - it is on the spicier side and definitely added a nice kick to the meal Tiramisu 5/5!!!!! Definitely more on the chocolatey side - HIGHLY RECOMMEND The quality of the food was absolutely amazing, so much flavor, great ambiance & a great place for any occasion! Can't wait to be back!
This has been my go to Italian spot for over a decade. I love the ambiance, it's old school Italian- casual but elegant with no pretentiousness. The wait staff is super friendly and willing to give advice and make accommodations. They're also very knowledgeable about the wine menu. The food is always awesome. I usually always get a fresh pasta, which never disappoints. You have to try the roasted red pepper appetizer. It's popular for a reason. This last time I had the classic spaghetti and meatballs and it was delicious. Do yourself a favor and give this little hidden gem a shot.
